Christmas Party Info!

Hello 5th Grade Families!

Students received the name of their Secret Santa today, so let the surprises begin!
Again, students will be gifting one main gift at our Christmas party on Dec. 21, but are encouraged to gift their recipient with smaller surprises (candy, a note, decorated desk, etc.) several times between now and Dec 21.

On Dec. 21, we will have our class Christmas party. We will have activities at stations with small crafts and/or Minute-to-Win-It style games. If you have an idea in mind, please sign up! I will have several small games that need helpers to run as well. Following the stations, we will have an ice cream sundae bar and movie. This is always a favorite!

There are two Sign Up Genius forms - one for game/craft stations, and one for the ice cream sundae bar.

Me Box Assignment - due 9/6/18
This year, our class is going to be using “Me Boxes” as a tool to build enthusiasm in our classroom and to help kick off our Writer’s Notebooks. A “Me Box” is a simple project. Using a shoebox or photo type box, collect items from around your home that help explain who you are and the things you are interested in. For example, you might include a family photo, a ticket stub from a baseball game, an example of something they are curious about, or a souvenir from a vacation. The “Me Box” should include 4-6 items that you will be able to show the class and explain why you chose the item. This activity is a perfect confidence builder, a way to show creativity, share interests, and show appreciation for one another. I will be sharing my “Me Box” in class as well. All items will be returned home, but please do not send anything of great value.

8-27-18 Happy New Year!

Hello and Welcome back!
Today was a fantastic first day of school! Beginning each school year with chapel, together as a Trinity family, is such an amazing way to start the year. I hope you were able to enjoy that with us!

We spent the majority of the morning organizing desks and books and getting acquainted with the space. We did a little getting-to-know-you activity with guessing things about ME! They have their side to complete tonight. Yeah, homework on the first day (luckily most finished in class ☺)

Reminders - we DO have band tomorrow! If you have an instrument, please bring it. If you haven't gotten your instrument yet, that's okay! We'll get it figured out with Mr. Pollatz.

Looking forward to seeing all of you tomorrow night for Curriculum Night at 6:30

Thank you for all of the classroom supplies and for helping today go smoothly!
